Anyway, back to business! We’re here today to learn about Google Reviews… SO… let’s do this!
Why do I need online reviews?
Customers use online reviews to help them make decisions on everything from pubs and restaurants to what product to buy, service to book, or tradesperson to choose. The more positive reviews your business has the more likely people will buy your products or use your services.
In fact, a recent study found 87 per cent of consumers read online reviews of local businesses, with the most important review factors being star rating, legitimacy, and recency.
So how do you increase your Google reviews?
If you’re wondering how to get Google reviews and boost your ratings, here are some things you can try.
Start by creating or updating your Google business profile
Before you can get Google reviews, you need to create your business profile, or if you have one already, make sure all information is up to date.
Google My Business is a free tool that gets your business to appear in Google search results and maps, making your business more visible to potential customers. You’ll just need a Google account to get started, then you can set up your business profile with the following information:
- business name
- business location address (this can be hidden if you don’t have a premises)
- areas you serve (specify if you deliver to other locations, for example)
- business category
- contact details (phone number, business website)
- Once set up, you’ll need to wait a few days for Google to verify your business (this is often through a verification card sent in the post).
Next Steps… OR if you use another review platform read here How To Increase Your Reviews
Other things to consider when trying to increase your number of reviews:
How to delete Google reviews
If you’re wondering how to get rid of bad Google reviews, chances are you probably can’t. Especially if it’s just because you disagree with it. However, if it’s inappropriate or violates Google’s policies, you can request to have it removed. Take a look through Google’s guidance on how to request review removal for more information.
Alternatively, you can also reply to reviews. If it’s a negative or inaccurate review that may be bothering you, why not reply to give further assistance or claification.
