For 2022 planning it is a great idea to map out your calendar key dates for the year and list events that you need to plan campaigns for, for example, business anniversaries, new product launches, new website, new services, national days that are relevant to you etc etc.
Then think about the seasons – does this impact your business, if so can you do something about this. If for example in the summer you are deadly quiet can you run a campaign in spring to help lift this period?
Or if you are super busy over Christmas can you prepare a campaign to run over the period and have it ready to go ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about doing it in your busy time.
If you are busy ALL the time. Firstly, lucky you, well done you are smashing it. Secondly, planning ahead is going to help you no end.
Where to start with planning your social media:
1. Start with your dates – what’s coming up and what do you need to prepare for.
2. Then, look at the next 3 months and what campaigns you can cope with during that period.
Your campaigns should ideally help you reach your goals and not just be fun ideas you want to try out…
3. Then once you have a 3 month plan look closer at the next month and use the planner below to map out post ideas for social media.
4. Be as specific as possible so you can plan well in advance.
5. Put ideas that need more time to develop content for the following month.
a) For example, a video case study by a VIP client… If you leave this content to create at the last minute you will probably miss the deadline. Give yourself a chance!
6. Write a to-do list of all the content you need and if possible delegate some of it so it isn’t all on you to do it!
7. Then once you have all the content put your posts together and get scheduling!
